We brought Peter home last night. It was a pretty great feeling walking out of the hospital with him. I almost teared up, but then I got all tough and made it out the door just fine. One day we were surrounded by doctors and nurses and next thing you know I’m driving down the road in my truck with the family. Peter loves riding in the truck by the way, probably because I already told him he can have it someday.
It feels great to be home. Last night was much easier to manage than the first two nights in the hospital, if there’s more nights like last night I think we’re going to be able to handle this parenting business. We also introduced Peter to his two Weiner Dogs, Monkey and Lucy. There’s lots of different opinions out there as how to introduce your pets to a newborn and what we’ve been doing so far seems to be working. The dogs have been behaving themselves and seem very interested in Peter. Monkey especially gets very concerned when he cries so I have a feeling she’ll be keeping an eye on him.
I’m a little behind on thank you’s for all the great gifts and kind words we’ve recieved over the past few days. It’s times like this when you realize how great your friends and family are. So thanks everyone and can’t wait to introduce you to The Champ as soon as possible. That’s one of his nicknames by the way. I think he already has about 14.
Peter A.
