Little Peter is 1 month old as of yesterday. It’s been a great month, he’s already changed a lot. He doesn’t want to build a fort or go fishing yet, but that’s cool I can wait a while for that stuff. He’s doing well and I think we’re getting the hang of this baby business. Or should I say Vanessa is getting the hang of it. I just change a diaper here and there and give him baths. Somewhere along the way I’ve been appointed the bath guy. Peter now enjoys his baths, it’s actually kinda fun giving them. He digs hanging out in the warm water. Maybe this is a good sign he’ll enjoy spending time in the lake at the cabin?

Vanessa has been the All-Star Mom, she has way more baby skills than I do so after I try and calm him down with no luck after minutes of screaming, she always jumps in saves the day. I’d like to think I could handle the little guy on my own for an entire day, but I’m pretty sure I’d just call my Mom and Sister to come help. My Mom said that’s what my Dad used to do so I may or may not use his trick sometime.

#1 thing I’ve learned that I’d like to share with those of you about to have a baby: It takes forever to leave your house. Deciding to go somewhere and leaving 5 minutes later has turned into a 45 minute highly planned logistics operation.
